What’s this about
London is a big city, with little extra space. Lots of people, with little connection. Therein lies our problem(s).
We spend our days at Van Der Wit Trading Company finding good wine and adequate ingredients. What bothering me was what happened next. Lovely bottles cooked by the boiler or on top of the fridge, and neighbours who pass each other daily without ever saying hello.
So we built Notting Hill Wine Caves from the ground up. Old coal vaults beneath the pavement, kept at the conditions wine actually needs, and close enough to home that you'll bump into people you'd like to know.
Everything here comes back to four things: it’s close to home, down to earth, nice and simple, safe and sound.
Come as you are. I’ll look after you personally.

Values we stand by and sip by
-
Close to home
Wine is something you share with the people around you. In a city this size, those people are too often strangers. We think your cellar belongs somewhere you'll run into them.
-
Down to earth
The best evenings happen when nobody's trying to impress anyone. We want a place where you can turn up as you are, and that's enough.
-
Nice and simple
Wine has a habit of complicating itself to justify its luxury and stoke its pomp. In all things we do, we strive toward the idea that “less is more”.
-
Safe and sound
A good bottle holds years of someone's work, and years of your waiting. It deserves to be kept properly, not just kept.
